World Bank. Opportunities of Relevance for SEE countries
This is a power point presentation held by Sara E. Farley about enhancing science technology and innovation for development. In the presentation many themes are discussed: a framework for support to Science, Technology, & Innovation (STI) for development; directions for support to STI in South Eastern Europe (SEE); challenges and next steps. Key STI Challenges Facing SEE Countries are presented (little private sector participation in innovation competing on natural resources and low wages, weak innovation/technology absorption in firms, low political priority to STI, limited funding etc). It also presents directions for support to STI in South Eastern Europe and challenges and opportunities for the bank and its partners.
