Training Guide on Academic Recognition - A Guide for Universities from the Western Balkans

Academic recognition is the point of interest in student mobility. It is vital for the student to know before the start of his exchange programme that all his study results – in so far as they are positive - fully count in his own curriculum without needing additional examination.

Through a conference on 'Student Mobility and Recognition of Study Periods Abroad (Western Balkans - EU) taking place on 10-12 October 2010 in Ljubljana/Sovenia and its preparatory meetings, a group of experts from universities and civil society organisations led by the King Baudouin Foundation developed a number of recommendations which were then tested and adjusted during the conference workshop sessions.

The results of these activities led to the development of this training guide. The guide offers further explanations, definitions, tips and tricks of how to try and implement the recommendations in an environment where budget is tight or there’s little or no buy-in.
