Joint Statement- Lessons learned from COvid-19: the way forward

Representatives of European academies of sciences met at the Berlin Process Joint Conference to talk about a plan to control COVID-19 in the Western Balkans. The Conference discussed lessons learned so far from COVID-19, options to control the SARS-CoV-2 virus as well as priorities for post-pandemic recovery. Scientists and stakeholders agreed on  joint statement with short- medium- and long-term points to control COVID-19 in the Western Balkans, as well as post pandemic priorities.

Scientists and stakeholders recommend 10-Point Plan to Control COVID-19 in the Western Balkans. These recommendations include the need to introduce uniform regulations for people traveling within Europe (full vaccination, RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen Tests, EU Digital COVID Certificate would be a minimum condition), the need to inform citizens about the ongoing research on the virus, and the need to invest EU funds in the public health care system and highly qualified personnel.
