Short description

The University of Zadar in Croatia and the University of Teramo in Italy invite applications for their joint doctoral programme in the Sociology of regional and local development. This is a six semester long PhD course (which can be studied full-time or part-time) during which students critically engage with theories of development and receive training in social research methodology. As part of their programme students are required to write a PhD thesis (either in Croatian, Italian or in English) based on their original research. They are supported in this process by a supervisor who is an expert in their area of study. The programme will be of interest to professionals working in the field of development who wish to build on their practical knowledge, as well as those with no prior experience who wish to pursue either an academic or professional career in this field of study. A combination of on-line and on-site teaching takes place. Tuition fees per semester amount to 6.900 Croatian kuna (approx. 915 EUR). The programme was reaccredited in 2019 and received a ‘high quality’ label. The deadline for applications is October 1 2020.
