Publication date
April 9, 2020
Deadline
October 1, 2020
Short description

With regard to extremely complex social and economic circumstances that we were confronted with during March 2020, which will obviously last and have far-reaching consequences, the Editorial board of the Sociology and Space journal wishes to instigate dialogue and interaction between national and international researchers through publishing scientific papers and other works in the new thematic issue.

The Sociology and Space journal invites authors from various branches of sociology, psychology and related disciplines to submit their research and/or insights on various aspects of the interaction between the social, psychological, health-related, economic and global consequences caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Moreover, especially those authors whose interest is focused on the research of new cultural practices in Croatia, the region and the world during the COVID-19 pandemic are invited to contribute.

In this moment, with regard to limited evidence and preliminary experience in the thematic issue of the journal, we also invite both the short forms of scientific communication, including autobiographical essays and research writings.

We are interested in the papers discussing the trends, assessment and facing with the consequences of the pandemic, and the consequences of the catastrophic earthquake that struck Zagreb on March 22 2020, and the interactions of the two events.

Having in mind the importance of the topic regarding the global pandemic, the peer-review process of submitted papers will be accelerated, in agreement with reviewers. We are open to various perspectives and attitudes of authors on the first characteristics of the pandemic and the earthquake, including various qualitative and quantitative research, the proposals for social strategies of facing with the consequences and the ideas how to protect the society and people from diseases and catastrophes.

Papers are submitted electronically to the following e-mail addresses: ankica@idi.hr, lanapeternel@idi.hr and/or sip@idi.hr.

Papers are to be submitted not later than 1st October 2020.
