Call for expression of interests for ‘green’ Programme Managers launched
The European Commission published a call for a Programme Manager for breakthrough energy and environmental technologies
The selected manager is expected to make a major contribution to the Green Deal by achieving breakthroughs in strategic clean energy and environmental emerging technologies. Iin particular, the selected person will oversee and manage a portfolio of research and/or innovation projects funded by the European Innovation Council (EIC). The duties includes advising the European Commission on how technological breakthrough and disruptive innovation opportunities can best be supported under the EIC and reviewing the international state of the art to best position their portfolio. In addition, Programme Managers will act as ambassadors for the EIC, e.g. by engaging with the relevant stakeholders, promoting calls or participating in outreach activities.
As the role of programme managers is new to the European Commission and the EIC, a group of leading experts have been appointed to develop recommendations on how Programme Managers can achieve maximum impact, under the EIC pilot and under the fully-fledged EIC (2021 – 2027), when the role is expected to be rolled out more extensively.
Applications can be made by 16 April 2020.
