16th Call for WBIF Technical Assistance Grant Applications Now Open
In accordance with the conclusions of the 14th Meeting of the WBIF Steering Committee, beneficiaries may submit grant applications for technical assistance by 2 September 2016.
Prior to this final deadline, potential applicants should observe the following intermediary closing dates:
- 12 August 2016: National IPA Coordinator transmits the pre-submission notification to the WBIF Secretariat; and
- 19 August 2016: The IFI Coordination Office issues preliminary project codes to the National IPA Coordinators.
Prospective proposals should be in line with national sector strategies and should aim at unblocking an existing WBIF project, across the WBIF eligible sectors. In addition, all transport sector project applications must concern transport routes or sections that are on or clearly linked to the Core Network.
The WBIF provides technical assistance as well as investment grants for infrastructure projects across energy, environment, transport and social sectors, following annual or bi-annual open calls for proposals.
Project applications must meet the eligibility criteria set forth for a specific Call as well as respond to the requirements detailed in the Guidelines relevant for the type of grant support - technical assistance or investment. Moreover, as defined by the WBIF Steering Committee, only projects submitted and/or endorsed by the National IPA Coordinators (NIPACs) in each beneficiary country are eligible for consideration.
Inquiries regarding the WBIF grant application process or a specific Call should be addressed to: NEAR-WBIF@ec.europa.eu.
