European Rural Youth Forum: Sustainability Summer School

Short description

European Youth Rural Forum (ERYF) is an organization where young people from rural areas all-round Europe meet. Every year there is a conference held in one of the member countries, where young people meet and discuss topics related to the countries – especially about the lives of young people in their home grounds. 

 

 

The goal of the ERYF 2016 Summer University is to provide solid knowledge in the areas of environmental and social sustainability through lectures, excursions (such as day trip to Gemenc forest (sustainable foresting), Szekszárd and Szeged as examples of rural tourism and workshops, provide hands-on learning experience on social innovation through workshops, to share ideas, envision student projects between a number of Central and South-Eastern European countries, as well as introduce the work of the Hungarian Sustainable University Network to encourage volunteering in this area  and keep building the now 10-year-long cooperation between the communities of participant countries,

Eligibility

  • Young people in age 16-24;
  • Students, especially from Central-Eastern and Southern Europe;
  • Interested about topics of  environmental sustainability, youth empowerment and social sustainability.

Costs

  • Due to the generous sponsorship of the Embassy of the United States in Hungary, total fee  for Central/Eastern European participants is 40 EUR (for students from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine);
  • 180 EUR for participants outside this region.
