News archive - How to apply for IPARD funding for your farm, food processing or rural business development

To get funding under IPARD, an application needs to be sent to the national IPARD agency.

Before applying, consult the national IPARD programmes which highlight the kind of investments that can be supported under the different measures and the criteria you need to meet to be eligible. It also includes the maximum amount that can be granted and how much funding needs to come from private sources. It is also important to check and follow the timetable of the calls for projects in your country

Project applications are assessed by the national IPARD agencies. Criteria for this assessment are given in each IPARD programme. The Agency will also check that the funding request for your investment is reasonable and will plan a visit to evaluate your project proposal.

If this assessment is positive the Agency will contact you to sign the contract for grant. This contract will detail your rights and obligations. You can then start implementing your investment project.

When you complete the project or a clear stage of your project, you can request the payment of the grant from the IPARD Agency. The agency will check that your investment is made in line with the contract and will transfer the amount to your bank account.

The European Commission transfers IPARD funding to the national accounts to reimburse the grants paid by the national IPARD Agencies.
