Access4SMEs guide: to assist and support SME’s in applying for Horizon 2020 projects

This guideline, containing “Analysis report on SME success factors and best practices” and “Supporting tool to assess an SME’s pre-requisites and suitability to H2020 projects”is created in order to assist and support SME’s in applying for Horizon 2020 projects.

The Analysis report is identifying, and describing the typology, and several different key success factors that SME’s should consider before they want to develop a project proposal for Horizon 2020.

The Supporting tool section contains various tools to help SME’s structure their initial project or innovation idea.

The guide should be useful for anyone who wants to develop a winning project proposal for Horizon 2020.

The authors of this guideline are Horizon 2020 NCPs dealing daily with SME that wants to develop project proposals for Horizon 2020. Their recommendations also include feedback received from evaluators of SME Instrument proposals employed by the European Commission.

This guide has been written as part of the Access4SMEs project (H2020-723120), a Coordination and Support Action funded by the European Commission, with the goal of empowering the network of Horizon 2020 National Contact Points (NCPs) for Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Access to risk finance (ARF). More specifically, the project is focused on identifying and sharing best practices in applying to SME-dedicated instruments in Horizon 2020.
