The Western Balkans include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo* under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 10 June 1999, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia.

*This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.
