Partnerships and Missions in Horizon Europe

A specific theme for the POLICY ANSWERS activities to support the integration of the Western Balkans in the EU Partnerships (of which there are 49) and EU Missions (of which there are 5).

EU Missions are a novelty of the Horizon Europe research and innovation programme for the years 2021-2027. The intention is to bring concrete solutions to some of the greatest challenges and deliver concrete results by 2030. EU Missions will deliver impact by putting research and innovation into a new role, combined with new forms of governance and collaboration, as well as by engaging citizens. EU missions support Commission priorities, such as the European Green Deal, Europe fit for the Digital Age, Beating Cancer for instance.

EU Partnerships bring the European Commission and private and/or public partners together to address some of Europe’s most pressing challenges through concerted research and innovation initiatives. They are a key implementation tool of Horizon Europe, and contribute significantly to achieving the EU’s political priorities.
