Austrian Research Promotion Agency
The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (Division of European and International Programmes) is the Austrian National Contact Point organisation for the 7th European Framework Programme for RTD, hosting all NCPs under one roof.
Established in 1993 as the BIT – Bureau for International Research and Technology Cooperation – it had already started being the overall Austrian NCP organisation under FP3.
In 2004, the BIT merged with three of the main research funding organisations in Austria to form the FFG – the Austrian Research Promotion Agency. The BIT remains part of it under the new name FFG/EIP.
FFG/EIP is actively engaged in providing information and advice services for Austrian researchers and industrialists regarding their participation in international RTD projects. FFG/EIP offers information and advisory services for its clients with respect to FP7, INTAS and EUREKA. Additionally, as coordinator of the INNOVATION Relay Centre Austria, FFG/EIP is actively involved in the Europe wide transfer of new technologies and in other innovation support measures.
