News archive - [Event Announcement] EuroGentest workshops on quality management within genetic testing laboratories – “Accreditation for beginners, how to implement ISO 15189?”, Istanbul

In an effort to harmonize and improve quality management within genetic testing laboratories the European project EuroGentest (a coordination action under FP7) organizes an interactive workshop in Istanbul: "Accreditation for beginners, how to implement ISO 15189?" on February 23-24, 2012. Registration closes January 27, 2012.

The specific objectives are to compare and share experiences of implementing and working with quality systems and to examine cases of concrete situations related to quality processes that may arise in laboratories, like non-conformities, reporting, training etc. Furthermore the common deficiencies in a quality management system and the ways to proceed for accreditation will be discussed during expert-led interactive sessions in small groups. ISO 15189 will be used as the reference standard during the workshop.

This workshop is developed especially for laboratories that are at the start of the process of implementation of a quality management system. Participants include laboratory directors, scientists, technicians and quality managers.

The workshop is in English, but small-group discussions can be in the local language. The number of participants is limited to 30. Registration closes January 27, 2012 (but note that the number of places are limited).
A registration form is provided via a link on the workshop website:
