News archive - Austria takes over the Chairmanship of Eureka Network 2020/2021

Eureka, the world’s biggest public network for international cooperation in R&D and innovation is celebrating its 35th anniversary. Austria, as one of the founding members of Eureka now takes over the chairmanship of the network and will pave the road “Towards a New Eureka”. Accordingly, in the upcoming year the network will prioritise the further development of Eureka's programmes, global outreach and internal cooperation. All core activities of the Austrian Chairmanship are built around the celebration of 35 years of Eureka.

During the last Steering Platform R&I meeting, Mr. Ulrich Schuh, Austrian Eureka Chairperson, expressed his hope for the conclusion of the full membership process of Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Eureka Network under the Austrian Chairmanship. Furthermore, Austria is interested in supporting the Eureka engagement of the Western Balkans region and will therefore explore the possibilities for cooperation.

The flexible Eureka programmes offer multiple opportunities for SMEs, large companies, universities and research organisations. They vary from bi- or multilateral network projects between Eureka countries, to Eurostars, the joint programme of Eureka and the EU, to industry-driven programmes, to projects with partners outside the Eureka network.

Eureka’s Austrian Chairmanship is held by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG): Austria's national contact point for Eureka.
