An annual conference on Clusters titled “CLUSTERS AS DRIVERS OF VALUE CHAIN DEVELOPMENT ACROSS THE DANUBE REGION” is foreseen to take place in Romania, Galati, on 5 and 6 October 2016, in the premises of the Botanical Garden. This year’s thematic focus will be on bio-economy.

Description

The EUSDR Coordination Unit in the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is among the organizers of the event, together with the Romanian Cluster Association (CLUSTERO). The conference will contain a dedicated panel on the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region.

The Romanian Cluster Association – CLUSTERO, through the South-East Region Clusters’ Consortium, has the honour to invite you to attend the International Cluster Conference "CLUSTERS AS DRIVERS OF VALUE CHAIN DEVELOPMENT ACROSS THE DANUBE REGION", with a dedicated focus on Clusters, Danube Strategy and Bioeconomy.

The competitiveness gap existing between the Eastern Europe countries (including Romania) and the West of the continent has its roots in the low degree of innovation and internationalization at the level of small and medium enterprises. The Danube Region is a proper framework for this approach as it brings together countries and regions in various stages of development. Moreover, Bioeconomy is one of the sectors with potential for excellence, given the resources and the competencies in areas such as energy, environment, agriculture, food security and safety.

The event enjoys the presence of eminent representatives of European organizations, national and international clusters, research institutes, universities and companies.
