Decision - Lifelong Learning Programme

These articles from the "Official Journal of the European Union" describe the newly established "Lifelong Learning Programme" entering into force in December 2006.

The target groups, objectives, different actions and financial allocations for the four sectoral sub-programmes

  1. Comenius (on school education),
  2. Erasmus (on higher education),
  3. Leonardo da Vinci (on vocational training),
  4. Grundtvig (on adult education), furthermore
  5. the transversal programme focussing on policy cooperation, languages, information and communication technolgy and dissemination and exploitation of results, and finally
  6. the Jean Monnet programme focussing on European integration and support for certain key institutions and associations in the field

are described. The programme budget will be 6.97 billion Euro for the total period 2007-2013.

Western Balkan countries are eligible to participate (see Article 7 of the Decision).
