Measuring Research and Experimental Development

This is a power point presentation made by Ernesto Fernandez Polcuch dealing with measurment of research and development. At first it states that we can not measure S&T directly, therefore we measure proxies: input indicators, output indicators and impact indicators. It introduces OECD Manuals for the Measurement of Scientific and Technological Activities and also presents some UNESCO methodologies and frameworks. In the presentation several definitions are given - for example a definition of R&D, innovation activities etc., including also several examples. Last but not the least, the presentation deals with R&D expenditure and its measurement.
