EIT annual report 2012 - Mastering the knowledge triangle

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has published its annual report for 2012. One of the key areas of activity in 2012 was the consolidation of the operational activities of the EIT, including more effective monitoring of the Knowledge and Innovation Communities' (KICs) activities and expenditure. The report also highlights the reinforcement of more structured collaboration between the EIT and the KICs, following the establishment of an EIT and KIC Forum the previous year.

The EIT also reports on its enhanced efforts in engaging more widely with stakeholders, the preparations for the next wave of KICs and the development of the EIT's knowledge and information management platform.  The report includes a 'spotlight' on the activities and achievements of each of the KICs - the Climate-KIC, ICT Labs and InnoEnergy – and also the first EIT Awards. Key events and publications from 2012 are covered, including a study on ‘Catalysing Innovation in the Knowledge Triangle’, the first in a planned series of studies on good practices emerging from the KICs.
